The authentic Savoyard village of Les Carroz is located on a spacious, sunny plateau at an altitude of 1140m in the Haute-Savoie region, halfway between Lake Geneva and Mont-Blanc. It is just 35 miles (about one hour’s easy drive) from Geneva Airport and about 500 miles from Calais or La Havre.

Accommodation is of an exceptional standard on the ground floor of a large chalet (GRADED 5 ‘edelweiss’ stars), traditionally built of timber and stone and ideally situated just 3 minutes walk from the village centre, its shops and amenities. The chalet was completed in 2001 by the well respected constructeur MGM, to a very high standard. It has its own underground garage with designated car parking spaces for guests.

We have spent many pleasurable hours here, relaxing in the sunshine while sipping a glass of excellent local wine; enjoying views of the mountains from our own individual balcony which also overlooks the village ice skating rink.

Large, sliding double glazed doors, windows and balcony all face south west allowing the sunshine to stream inside during the afternoon and evening.

Accommodation consists of a spacious living room with adjoining dining/kitchen area, a double bedroom with en-suite shower-room, a twin bedroom, a separate w.c. room and separate bathroom with basin, bath and shower.

The chalet is exceptionally well equipped and beautifully maintained. The beds are very comfortable and there is adequate wardrobe/storage space. Heating is extremely efficient and individually controllable in each room. The kitchen area has a microwave oven, traditional oven, ceramic hob, fridge and dishwasher. The stylish bathrooms have ample hot water for bathing, good powerful showers and efficient heated towel rails for drying clothes or towels. The lounge/dining area is furnished in traditional alpine style with cupboards, dining table & chairs, sofa and large TV.

Emphasis is on style, good quality and comfort throughout.

During the winter skiing season, guests have exclusive use of the private indoor swimming pool, whirlpool and sauna complex that was built alongside the five chalets that comprise the development. There is also an excellent social lounge / reception area with large open fireplace, pool table & TV. A launderette is available for guests’ use.

Spring & Autumn weather is generally lovely, definitely the best time for exploring, sightseeing and relaxing in the mountains and villages. Les Carroz‘s sunny, central situation amongst carpets of alpine spring flowers is just perfect. The village has everything you may need - it is attractive, has a good choice of craft shops, boutiques, boulangeries, charcuteries, bistros and restaurants, lovely walking nearby and even a cinema showing English films!
